Key Stage 1 - Years 1 + 2

During the time they are at Swarland the children's work is planned by the teaching staff according to the statutory guide lines from the DfEE.  It is divided into three Key Stages:-

Foundation Stage - Nursery /Playgroup and Reception

Key Stage 1 - Year 1 and Year 2 children 

Key Stage 2-  Year 3 and year 4 children 

Mrs Johnson and Mrs Mason are the designated teachers for Years 1 and 2. However all the staff teach these year groups at some point sharing their expertise and giving them a range of staff and teaching styles. They are keen to make your children happy in their work.

		Educational visits are an important part of school life.  Here the year 1s and 2s on their trip to the Farne Islands as part of their island topic.

	We visited Bamburgh Castle to see what the archaeological dig was finding. We went back to school and had a go in our own grounds.
